Canberra Brown Owls :: February 2013 meeting

Helloooo Canberra owls!
Thanks to everyone who has already gotten back to us to let us know you would like to stay on the mailing list!

And thanks to everyone for your patience while we finalised our meeting dates.
I'm very excited to let you know we do have our 2013 bookings confirmed.
We will be meeting from 2pm until 4:30pm on the 4th Saturday of each month, at the Downer Community Centre

This means that our very first meeting for 2013 will be held next Saturday 23rd February at 2pm

Please bring along what ever crafty piece you have on the go, and join us for a cuppa and a chat. We love show and tell, so please also bring along anything you've finished or are working on and would like to show (off) =)

Please also remember to bring $5 for room hire, and something to share for arvo tea if you would like!

It would be wonderful if RSVP in the comments so that we know how many owls to expect.

If anyone hasn't had the chance to let me know that you would like to stay on our mailing list for 2013 please do - future emails about our meetings will be sent to our updated list, and we would hate to miss anyone!
As in previous years, we will continue to put the details of our meetings on the Brown Owls members blog.

Hope to see you next weekend!

Parramatta Brown Owls - First gathering!

Please join us at our very first Parramatta Brown Owls gathering to serve Sydney's western suburbs!

Where: Mars Hill Cafe, 331 Church Street, Parramatta NSW
When: Saturday, February 23 at 1030 am
Who: crafters, upcyclers, artisans, anyone who loves to make things

BYO project and feel free to enjoy the sublime drinks and foods at Mars Hill Cafe.

Mars Hill Cafe is a delightful locally owned cafe dedicated to providing space for artists, musicians, writer's groups and much more. They are very excited to hear crafters and artisans are interested in meeting there. They have a meeting room upstairs as well as a performance space, but until we get established and decide what we need, we'll just grab a table or two inside or out on the sidewalk cafe for now.

You don't have to be a professional or running a business. If you love to make things, would like to learn how, or want to network your budding or already successful crafting venture, please come.

There is no fee to meet at the cafe although you might like to purchase one of their fine hot or iced coffee drinks or pot of tea and a pastry or breakfast.

Hope to see your shining faces there as well as your knitting, crochet, sewing, paper cutting - whatever you can bring. If you have photos of your work, please bring those as well. If you have done any local markets, have a shop, sell online, make things as gifts or charitable donations, or simply love to make things for your home, we want to hear your stories. Come share!
